Buffalo, WY turned out to be our resting day on our honeymoon. Spent the day at The Occidental which was an incredible time warp back to the past. I wandered several times through the hallways and enjoyed the library quite a bit. We were greeted at reception and given a tour to our room which left me spinning at the authenticity of all of it.
Everything about The Occidental is perfect. I want to come back already!!
We met several locals who were incredibly friendly and spent the afternoon walking Main Street.
I haven't yet stayed in the hotel but loved the bar. Live music, good food and friendly staff. I almost gave 4 stars due to the fact the bar is very understaffed. But I heard from a local it's a problem in general with Buffalo. If you go expect waiting and enjoy the good music. Very historical place.

We had dinner at The Virginian and let's just say that YOU NEED TO EAT HERE. Our server Chelsea (I called her Courtney and she didn't correct me utmost polite, sorry Chelsea) made me smile every time she came to the table with another delicious dish.
Love the time warp. Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, great band on weekends, furnishings are authentic, and comfortable beds. If you're a person who likes it cooler then maybe find somewhere else to stay. It's an old building so not everywhere has an A.C. but the atmosphere makes up for it. Our next stay will be here again!
Rooms were very clean, and the service was very accommodating. Buffalo is such a friendly town, and the hotel is very neat and rooms are beautiful. I recommend that anyone interested in western history stay here.
