This place is unbelievable I would say 2nd only to the Grand Canyon as far as standing at the edge of a canyon and seeing beautiful scenery. I would suggest nothing less then at least a soccer mom SUV to get back there. I never had to put my truck in 4 wheel drive but it could easily come to that with a little rain or a little less tire than I have on my truck.
Amazing views and a decent number of fire rings for sites. Although there were several RVs there, the road up was less than forgiving, including passing through a private ranch.
High clearance vehicles are recommended to access this site. While not a long way from Kaycee, allow time to drive on dirt roads. Please respect the private property on both sides of the road.
This area burned a while back, but the recovery is well underway. The blackened trees now provide a stark accent to this rugged landscape.
Hole-in-the-Wall Campground is living Wyoming history. While the arch (Hole) collapsed a number of years ago, it is still possible to imagine Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid hanging out here.
Oh my god, this place is fantastic! Great staff, we were running late and they left some wood at our campsite which is a pull thru that can fit 2 enormous motorhomes. Green grass and trees beautiful park setting. We have RVed all over this great country including Canada & Alaska and this has to be one of the nicest!
Plan on dry camping, unless you fancy hauling water up from the bottom of the ravine. The latrines are kept in working order, but supplied / cleaned once per week, unless they are called.
